Why track WTO notifications?

ePing notifications are the earliest formal signal of regulatory change abroad: an SPS measure can restrict a food or feed consignment, a TBT regulation can redefine labeling, certification or conformity assessment for manufactured goods. Exporters who monitor the relevant member and HS chapter get a commenting window and lead time before rules harden. Pair this browser with our Schedule B code search, the tariff calculator or the UFLPA entity list search, or read the background notes in our ePing guides.

Frequently asked questions

What is the WTO ePing notification browser?

ePing is the WTO's official alert system for SPS (sanitary and phytosanitary) and TBT (technical barriers to trade) notifications: every time a WTO member plans to change a technical regulation, food or plant-health rule, it must notify other members so trading partners can comment. This page mirrors that metadata as a free, instant, browser-side search over the full history.

How do I track TBT and SPS notifications for my products?

Enter a product keyword, pick a notifying member, or combine the HS chapter filter with a date range. Rows flagged Unlabeled have no HS chapter extracted from the official record (about three in ten notifications), so keep that bucket enabled when a broad sweep matters. Every row links back to the official document.

How often is the data updated?

The underlying corpus is refreshed daily from the official WTO bulk export; each build pins its vintage timestamp and source checksum in the data-provenance block below. The last 365 days ship inside the page itself, while older years load on demand from archive files on the same host.

Where does this data come from?

Records are normalized from the WTO ePing anonymous bulk export (one row per notification, XLSX channel canon) and enriched with HS-chapter labels extracted from the official cells. We publish metadata plus a link back to the source document rather than re-publishing full notification texts.
